Were you a writer, journalist, poet, editor, translator, essayist or playwright before emigrating to Canada?
Are you a writer who fled your country of origin due to persecution in violation of freedom to expression?
Were you living in an environment in which political, economic and/or social obstacles prevented you from freely expressing in words your thoughts, opinions and analysis?
Is so, then PEN Canada wants to hear from you. We are continually on the lookout for exiled writers who have resettled in Canada. Your involvement would extend to:
- The Writers in Exile Network
- Possible participation in the Readers & Writers program
- Possible inclusion in future PEN anthologies of exilic writing
- The Writers in Exile Club, which brings together disparate exilic voices in a peer-based public forum
We want to ensure that your voices are heard and that your words are read.
